Breed Priorities – The Belgian Malinois

AKC recognizes the three Belgian herding dogs – Sheepdog, Tervuren, and Malinois – as three separate breeds. For AKC, the Belgian Laekenois is in Miscellaneous. FCI countries categorize the four breeds as varieties of one Belgian Sheepdog breed, including the Laekenois variety. In FCI countries, the AKC Belgian Sheepdog variety is known as Groenendael.

Security at Shows – Protecting Dogs & Exhbitors

This year, the Westminster show and Crufts were disrupted by animal rights activists. The recently held Coronado Kennel Club dog show in Albuquerque, New Mexico was delayed due to an active shooter incident and thankfully no one was injured. And, this past weekend at the Woofstock shows in Vallejo, California, at least three two-person teams set themselves to the task of releasing dogs from their kennels.
