Afghan Hound Wins Hound Group At The 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The Afghan Hound of Roseville, CA, handled by Alicia Morrison Jones and co-owned by Morrison Jones and Jamie Souza Bartlett, won the Hound Group under judge Christine Erickson of Queen Creek, AZ at the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Louis, a 6-year-old male, officially known as GCHP Sunlit’s King of Queens, took top honors among the 35 dogs entered within the Hound Group. Westminster will see over 2,500 entries in conformation, with two days of Best of Breed judging from Monday, May 13 – Tuesday, May 14, culminating with the Group and Best in Show competitions.

The Hound Group was televised live on FS1. Tune in for the crowning of Best in Show live on FS1 Tuesday, May 14 from 7:00–11:00 p.m. EDT. The Empire State Building will illuminate the New York City skyline in Westminster’s iconic purple and gold to celebrate the 148th annual event.
