They arrived to find a major smackdown underway on the southbound platform of the 4 train. The fighting escalated and Tieniber jumped in to restrain one of the combatants as she attempted to choke another. Choking wasn’t the only thing on her list that morning. As Tieniber attempted to handcuff her, she began kicking Bear in the head…

What started as an idea in Gavin Robertson’s head a few weeks after winning BIS at Crufts snowballed into something that will be remembered by so many within the world of pedigree dogs and dog shows for years to come. What started out as a small idea ended as a great fundraiser with Great Ormond St. Children’s Hospital, DOGLOST and the KC Charitable Trust as the main beneficiaries.

From a legal standpoint, pets are property. Compensation is based on an animal’s monetary value. Even exceptional show or working dogs are seldom valued at more than $30.000. Infrequent cases that have scored non-economic damages were usually overturned on appeal.

? Do we, the younger generation of fanciers, really take the time to listen and learn from those who have been at this longer?

We never worried much about our belongings surviving the trip, but we most certainly worried about our dogs’ states of mind. We had a lot of friends and colleagues ask us along the way, “How are the dogs handing all the change? Are they OK?”
