At a large cluster, it seemed that poor sportsmanship was rampant in many rings. One judge apparently felt the need to congratulate those on their wins as well as thank exhibitors of their sportsmanship when appropriate. That wasn’t received well by those who did not get thanked.

Early negotiations produced a tentative agreement to move MSG across Eighth Avenue into the old Farley Post Office. A combination of bureaucratic inertia and economic downturn stalled that plan in 2008. As a result, MSG’s owners proceeded to upgrade the 45-year-old arena.
