Today marks the first day of the North Florida Classic Cluster cluster in Tallahassee, FL. Day one includes two shows in one day. I’d love to hear from folks about how they feel about the two-shows-in-one-day concept. It would be interesting to hear the exhibitor’s perspective and their opinion of the impact on dogs. I took a quick look at the show schedule and felt badly for the professional handlers. I continue to be hesitant about this concept, especially for young dogs. I am not sure the “more show the better” concept is the right approach. It certainly didn’t work for Starbucks. Here’s hoping all goes smoothly.

Westminster 2017 from the Exhibitor’s Perspective

Another change exhibitors experienced this year was the ring surface. New carpet was used in the breed rings at the Pier and in the group ring at the Garden. Unfortunately, the new carpet gave many dogs and humans some trouble. Many exhibitors had bloody knees and several dogs experienced raw pads which resulted in an inability for them to move at their best.
